A quick update on our support channel. I've removed Zendesk as our helpdesk vendor with https://PointAnswer.com, an affordable helpdesk software I have created to replace expensive helpdesk vendors.

HelpCenter Docs

Our main helpcenter link is still the same at https://help.onvoard.com. However, links to individual articles from previous helpcenter are outdated. If you need to search for particular article, you can search the title via the search bar in the new helpcenter.

Contacting Us

I've removed our ticketing system with Zendesk. If you require any assistance in the future, please contact us directly at support@onvoard.com. We'll use direct email replies as our main support channel.

Why did I choose to replace Zendesk?

I started PointAnswer out of necessity because I was overpaying for a helpdesk with simple requirements.

I used to run my helpdesk and host my docs with Zendesk. It wasn't a cheap solution, but it had the help center structure that I liked the most. Initially, I was paying about US$30/mo for OnVoard. But as time went on, Zendesk added more and more unnecessary features for enterprises that I didn't need, making the whole platform harder and harder to use. Then, they were bought over by a PE firm, which kept raising the price over time.

When I use Zendesk for my second SaaS business, RenderKu, it costs me $70/mo. This amount is more than 3 servers I'm paying to host the whole infrastructure. And I'm only choosing Zendesk mainly for hosting documentation.

At this point, when I was planning to start my 3rd app business, the thought of forking another $70/mo for hosting documentation made me rethink my options. I've eventually come to the conclusion it would be better for me to start PointAnswer and use it as helpcenter for all businesses, and serve other small businesses alike.

I know how it's like to run a small business where every cents count. Thus, if you are looking for a free or affordable helpcenter to host your faqs and documentation, have a look at https://PointAnswer.com.

The free plan will serve your needs if you only need basic functionality for your helpcenter.
